Keep in mind that fortresses, for strategic reasons were built on hills to dominate the surrounding landscape. This peculiarity might not be of military use anymore, but makes an afternoon visit very pleasant and cooling after a morning at the beach.

If you are visiting in July, the medieval festival of Offagna will be an unforgettable experience for the children. It’s a week long event packed with live shows, music, jousting, falconry, crafts market in a magical atmosphere inspired to medieval times.

Serra San Quirico in the last week of July closes its streets to the cars and becomes “Il Paese dei Balocchi” (toy land) with a festival inspired by Pinocchio’s tale.

Porto Sant'Elpidio hosts in July the Festival Internazionale del Teatro per Ragazzi - International Festival of Theater for Kids with daily performances, workshops and happenings.

During Christmas time the town of Loreto becomes the capital of the traditional art of Presepio (nativity).

Clementoni in Recanati is a well known manufacturer of education games, a visit to the outlet is a must.
