Beaches in Italy: Gabicce and the Romagna Riviera

Some of the most famous beaches in Italy are on the Romagna Riviera on the Adriatic Coast. Gabicce, Cattolica, Rimini and Riccione offer great beach holidays, high quality entrainment and Italy vacation packages for families and singles.

Gabicce, Riccione, Rimini and Cattolica are part of a tested machine that provides every year perfect Italy beach holidays to millions of satisfied tourists.

The Riviera Romagnola reached perfection in providing well groomed fine sand beaches and endless entertainment for singles and families.

Here you can find an wide choice of high quality clubs and a vibrant nightlife as well as theme parks for kids and families.

Gabicce is on the border between Romagna and Marche region, next to Cattolica, the first southern outpost of the Romagna Riviera.

Actually Gabicce is so close to Cattolica that is divided only by a ship canal.

The boat is called Caronte, like the mythical ferryman that transports the souls across the river Acheron to the Ades.

The cross over only lasts about a minute, the price is few cents and despite the fact that there is also a bridge nearby, everybody seems to prefer the ferry.

Here even crossing a canal becomes tourist entertainment.

We watch hypnotized the going of the ferry and we finally sit at the restaurant in front of the dock.

The day fades, we have excellent fish for dinner and almost imperceptibly the lights turn on and the excitement of night life begins.

The streets are now populated by the happy mob of tourists who stroll along the port and the velvet beach.

Ladies show off glittery dresses on the sun kissed skin.

Couples glide effortlessly on the dancing floor performing well practiced steps of a tango.

Along the winding road suddenly appears the biggest and most overstated gate I have ever seen. It turns out to be the entrance to the famous disco Baia Imperiale, a monument to dancing and nightlife.

We resume our trip home in the cool and fragrant night leaving behind the lights and excitement of some of the most lively beaches in Italy, Gabicce and the Costa Romagnola.
