Easy Italian Dessert Recipes: Torroncino
Of the easy Italian dessert recipes, torroncino is the most scrumptious. This recipe is by our friend Lucia who promised to prepare soon a Torroncino especially for us. We won’t let her forget.
250 gr. (9 ounces) of HARD TORRONE 4 EGGS 1/2 lt. (18 ounces) LIQUID CREAM 150 gr.(5 1/2 ounces) of SUGAR Leave the torrone in its plastic bag and break it in small pieces with a hammer wrapped in a clean cloth. Whip up separately the egg whites and the cream with half of the sugar. Beat the egg yolks with the remaining sugar. In a bowl mix half of the torrone crumbs, the egg yolks, the cream and egg whites, then pour the mixture in a plum cake mold lined with aluminum foil. Alternate layers of the mixture with layers of torrone crumbs. Freeze for at least 6 hours. Let defrost at room temperature for half an hour before serving. Cut in slices and decorate with chocolate sauce.
