How to Build a Site that Works

For my husband’s job we traveled around the world and we always enjoyed the excitement of discovering new cultures and countries.

Then one day the unexpected happened, we were living thousands of miles from home and I was struck by the severest case of homesickness I ever experienced in our wandering life.

On top of this, my first son was about to leave to college and I realized I was about to become an almost-empty-nester.

There were no perspectives of moving back, my life was stalled and I had no clear direction, I needed an exciting occupation fast!

The big challenge was to find something I could take with me in our trips around the world.

I wanted to feel connected with my country and to build a site about my country,Italy seemed like a good idea.

The problem was I am no techie, I use the computer, but my skills are very basic.

I started looking into college courses but they were too expensive and time consuming.

Finally, one day, almost absentmindedly I typed “ How to build a site “ in the google search window and I found out about SBI!

I read and thought about it for a while, then I decided, as there was no risk involved, to give it a try.

SBI not only enabled me to build a site that is working and easily found on the net, but also to get in touch with my roots.

It’s great to write about the places and people I know and love, and now my web site is in the top ten sites about my topic.

But probably the most enjoyable thing was learning something new and following clear instructions that gave predictable results.

In a way it was a therapeutic experience, in a moment of incertitude and confusion, at least SBI was tracing a clear path providing me powerful tools and clear goals to reach.

In a very confusing moment of my life I had something exciting to look forward to and I was learning a new, exciting way to express myself.

Surprisingly enough as my site was taking shape and momentum so was our life. Things started to come together and soon we were able to move back to our country and enjoy the kind of life we wanted.

I was so excited when I received the first e-mail of appreciation about my site!

Now our lives are back on track and my site earned its first check. It was an almost an emotional moment, I took it as a reward for hard work and an omen to a new beginning in life, exactly what I needed when l began my quest for putting my abilities at work .

SBI! went far beyond my expectations and actually has a lot to offer even to experienced webmasters.
