Frittelle di Arance (Orange Fritters): an Italian cooking recipe from Le Marche region
A lovely Italian Christmas recipe to brighten up a cold afternoon. Ingredients 4 big oranges a glass of rum about 100 gr. of self rising flour 1 spoonful of sugar 1 egg

Peel the oranges, taking care to remove also the white part of the peel.
Slice the oranges and let them rest with the rum for 15 minutes. Mix the flour with the sugar and add a glass of water. Whip up the egg white until is firm and slowly add it to the flour mix. Dip the orange slices in this batter and immediately deep fry for few minutes. When you take the slices out of the frying pan let the oil drain on a piece of paper towel. Sprinkle with sugar and enjoy under the Christmas tree!
