Italian Wine Regions: Le Marche

Discover Le Marche, one of the emerging Italian wine regions. The unique climate, the soil quality and the intelligent labor of our people created some of the most interesting Italian wine labels.

There is archeological proof that vine growing was practiced in our region eight hundred years BC and Romans greatly appreciated the wines from the Piceno territory.

Some unique conditions make this area ideal for grape cultivation:

the soil composition, mainly clay and lime

the climatic exposure of the river valleys that lead to the sea

the right amount of annual rain

the favorable light exposition

the hill territory

the suitable climate

Actually vine growing is one of the main agricultural activity of our region.

In these last years a great effort was made to make this traditional activity more modern and meet the demands of the international market, while enhancing the uniqueness of the local grape varieties.
