The Enoteca Regionale in the town of Jesi, offers an unexpected wealth of wines from Le Marche region. The wines on display are of outstanding quality and some won international awards.

This treasure for the serious wine taster is easy to find, just follow the brown signs to the Enoteca in the city historical center.

The wine collection is very appropriately located in the cellars of an ancient palace and hundreds of bottles are on display along the the walls of this underground maze of chambers and corridors.

The place is tastefully decorated and the visitor has a chance to sample the wines with the local food and buy Italian wine under the knowledgeable guidance of a sommelier.

The recently restored galleria is a stunning example of rococo style and leads you to a sequence of beautifully decorated rooms where the paintings are on display.

We were invited to visit the Museo della Stampabut the wine tasting took its toll and we happily got lost in the meticulously clean streets and squares that make up the center of Jesi, until we magically found ourselves on corso Matteotti, the shopping street of the city.

Some interesting jewelry shop windows and a scrumptious ice cream made up for the missed museum visit and gave up a refreshing pause.
