These tiny theaters where build to be the pride and joy of the community and now in a massive effort were restored to continue the tradition.

The Sferisterio di Macerata (pronounced sfay-ree-stay-reeo) was built around 1820 for the then popular game of Pallone col Bracciale. When the game lost favor the perfect acoustic of this huge open air theater was utilized for concerts and operas.

Teatro delle Muse is the newly renovated Ancona theater, in July it offers an interesting program with the Jazz Summer Festival.
