Places to Visit in Italy

Discover some of the most unique places to visit in Italy, the beautiful historic towns of Le Marche region

Le Marche historic towns are often overlooked in favor of more famous tourist attractions in Italy but they are all absolutely charming and extremely well preserved. These little gems are lovingly kept by their inhabitants and they are like living, open air museums.

These cities were not built for cars or to impress with the magnitude of their monuments, they were built with humans in mind.

Streets, monuments and squares are actually made for people to walk about, meet, work and have fun together.

Still, the hub of the social life is the evening passeggiata (walk) in the town center. The main squares of these little cities are a kind of big living room where all the citizen can meet socially, exchange ideas or carry on their business.

The city is structured on the renaissance concept of ideal city where the man and his activities are at the center of it all.

Wandering in their twisty streets and sitting in the main square for a gelato or aperitivo is like traveling back in time.

The center of Urbino didn’t change much since Duca Federico’s times, Ascoli main square was not altered in the last few centuries.
